Instagram Edits for creators

Being a creator on Instagram is a loop: an idea, a plan, a shoot, an edit, a post, a look at what happened, and the next idea. Edits was built around that loop - Ideas, Storyboards, Camera, editor, direct posting, Insights - so the whole thing fits in one free app. This page is the creator's map: how the loop runs in Edits, a weekly routine that's sustainable, the formats that grow accounts, and the guides for Reels, profile, Stories, Live and broadcast channels.

THE LOOP

The creator loop, and where Edits runs it

Most creators run this loop across four or five apps: a notes app for ideas, the camera, an editor, Instagram to post, Instagram again (or a dashboard) to see what happened. Edits puts all six stages in one place - which matters less for convenience than for the feedback: when the retention curve is one swipe from the timeline, you actually look at it before cutting the next hook.

What follows assumes you've installed it - Downloads - and have a creator account; the setup is at the bottom.

01

Capture ideas

Sticky notes, saved Reels, audio and text styles in the Ideas tab; weekly idea prompts.

02

Plan the shots

Storyboards break the Reel into frames: hook, points, CTA. Multiple takes per frame.

Storyboards
03

Camera
04

Trim the hook, captions in the safe zone, trending audio, keyframes, cover.

Post

Export 1080p with no watermark; share to Reels, or save for Stories, TikTok and Shorts.

ROUTINE

A creator week that doesn't burn out

Three Reels, Stories most days, one Live or channel update, one Insights review. Batch the shooting into a single session - that's where Storyboards and the teleprompter save the most time - and let the Ideas tab fill up between sessions. Adjust the days to your best posting times.

Mon
Ideas + plan

Clear the Ideas tab into three Storyboards. Pick audio. 30 min.

planning
Tue
Batch shoot

Film all three Reels with the teleprompter. One setup, one light. 60 min.

shooting
Wed
Edit + post Reel 1

Hook first, captions, cover. Post at your best time. Stories: behind the scenes.

Reel
Thu
Stories day

3–5 Stories: poll, question box, reshare Reel 1 with a sticker. 15 min.

Stories
Fri
Post Reel 2

Edit from the Tuesday batch. Check Reel 1 retention first; adjust the hook.

Reel
Sat
Post Reel 3 + Live / channel

Weekend reach. A 20-min Live or a channel update if there's news.

Live / channel
Sun
Insights + reset

Compare the three Reels. Note what worked in Ideas. Profile check monthly.

planning
Tip: duplicate a project in Edits to test two hooks for the same Reel; post the second a week later if the first underperforms. The retention curve in Insights tells you which one earned it - Why Reels get low views.

Each does a different job. A healthy week mixes a reach format, a connection format and a low-effort one. Hooks for all of them in Reel hooks.
