Who we are

This website (editsais.com, "we", "us") is an independent, educational guide about the Edits video editing app. We are not affiliated with Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc., and this policy covers only this website - not the Edits app itself. For how the Edits app handles your data, see Meta's Privacy Policy and the official site at creators.instagram.com/edits.

02

Information we collect

We do not require accounts, logins, or registration, and we do not knowingly collect names, addresses, or payment details. The information handled through this site falls into two categories:

  • Automatically collected data - when you visit, third-party analytics and advertising services may collect technical information such as your IP address, approximate location (city/country level), browser and device type, operating system, pages visited, time on page, referring site, and interactions like clicks and scrolling.
  • Information you choose to send us - if you email us or use our contact form, we receive whatever you include in your message (typically your name, email address, and the message itself). Our form opens your own email app; nothing you type is uploaded to or stored by this website.
03

How we use information

We use visitor information only to:

  • Understand which guides are useful and improve our content
  • Fix technical problems, broken links, and usability issues
  • Keep the site secure and prevent abuse
  • Support the site through advertising (see section 6)
  • Reply to messages you send us

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to build marketing lists or send newsletters.

04

Cookies & tracking technologies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site itself does not set cookies for its own features, but the third-party services we use (analytics and advertising, listed below) may set cookies or use similar technologies to recognize your browser across visits.

You can control cookies through your browser settings - including blocking them entirely or deleting existing ones. Most browsers also offer private/incognito modes. Blocking cookies will not break this site's content.

05

Third-party services

We use the following services, each of which processes visitor data under its own privacy policy:

ServicePurposeTheir policy
Google AnalyticsAnonymous usage statistics - page views, traffic sources, and audience trends.Google Privacy Policy
Microsoft ClarityUsability analytics such as heatmaps and anonymized session replays showing how pages are used.Microsoft Privacy Statement
Google AdSenseDisplaying advertisements that support the site (see section 6).Google Ads Policy
Google FontsLoading the typefaces used in our design; your browser requests font files from Google's servers.Google Privacy Policy

These providers may transfer and process data in countries other than your own, including the United States.

06

Advertising

This site is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to show ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites - known as personalized advertising.

Your choices:

Opting out doesn't remove ads - it makes them non-personalized.

07

Contact form & email

Our contact form runs entirely in your browser: pressing "Send" opens your own email application with the message pre-filled. This website does not receive, transmit, or store form submissions.

If you email us, we keep your message only as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable record of correspondence. We use your email address solely to reply - never for marketing. Please don't include passwords or sensitive personal information in messages to us.

09

Data retention & security

We do not maintain our own databases of visitor data. Analytics and advertising data is retained by the third-party providers according to their own schedules (typically 2–26 months for analytics data). Email correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably needed.

The site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we minimize risk by simply not collecting or storing personal data ourselves.

10

Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. Because we hold almost no personal data ourselves, most requests are best directed to the third-party services listed in section 5 - but you can always contact us and we'll help point you to the right place or delete any correspondence we hold from you.

Practical controls available to everyone:

  • Browser cookie controls and private browsing modes
  • The Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on
  • Ad personalization opt-outs listed in section 6
  • "Do Not Track" / Global Privacy Control signals, which the third-party services may honor per their own policies
11

Children's privacy

This site is general-audience content about a video editing app and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site or the services it uses change. The effective date at the top will always reflect the latest version, and material changes will be noted on this page. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.

13

How to contact us

Reminder: this policy covers this independent guide website only. For privacy questions about the Edits app itself or your Instagram account, see Meta's Privacy Center.
