Edits / Instagram for Creators / Live
Going live happens in Instagram, but the reach comes before and after. Edits is a free, no-watermark editor for the teaser you post ahead and the Reels you cut from the replay: a teleprompter camera, captions and clean export.
Instagram Live is a real-time broadcast. You can add a guest in a split screen, or use Live Rooms to go live with others. One guide we read says a Live can run up to four hours, and comments can be switched on or off. You can collect questions beforehand with a question sticker in Stories.
Edits does not stream. It is the editor you use around the broadcast: a teaser before, and clips from the best moments after. That is where most of the reach comes from, because only some followers are watching live.
Tip: pick moments with one clear idea. A good Live moment needs a hook in the first two seconds to work as a Reel.
Saving or downloading a replay depends on what the Instagram app offers for your account, so check that first.
Record a short teaser with the Edits teleprompter camera and add captions. Post it as a Reel or Story.
Start the Live in Instagram. You can schedule one ahead and add guests. Edits is not involved here.
If the app lets you save or download it, do that. One guide notes a Live can disappear after 24 hours unless saved.
Import the replay, trim the best moments, add captions, export with no watermark and share to Instagram.
Planning a Live? You can schedule up to 90 days ahead (reported), and followers can set reminders.
