Edits / Instagram for Creators / Broadcast Channels
A broadcast channel is where you talk to the followers who chose to hear from you. Edits is a free, no-watermark editor from Instagram for making the clean videos, voice notes and quick updates you send there: a teleprompter camera, captions, and high-quality export.
It is a one-to-many space in Instagram. Only you can send messages; followers can react and vote in polls. You can share text, photos, video and voice notes, and run polls. Followers join from a join-channel sticker in Stories, a link on your profile, or the notification sent when you start your channel, and they need to follow you first.
Where Reels are made to reach new people, a channel is for people who already care. That makes it the place for earlier looks, quick updates and the things that do not fit a polished post. Edits fits in as the place you make those clips so they look clean.
Tip: keep each message short. Followers get a notification, so one clear idea per message works better than a long ramble.
We could not confirm a direct share-to-channel button in Edits, so this workflow goes through your camera roll. If a newer option shows up in the app, use it.
Use the Edits camera with the teleprompter for a clean take, up to ten minutes per take.
Cut the dead air, add one-tap captions and, if you like, a voiceover.
Export from Edits with no watermark. The Instagram creators blog suggests 2K, HDR and 60 fps for the best quality.
Open your channel in your Instagram inbox and add the video, then write one line to go with it.
Starting a channel? Once you have access, start it from your Instagram inbox. Your first message sends the notification to followers, so make it a good one.
Free, no watermark, with a teleprompter camera and captions.
